Healthy Pet — Happy Pet

Every Dog Has Its Play With Pals — by Pooka

There’s much to be said for socializing your pet early. Although breed and family history play a part in your pet’s personality, their attitude and personality can be guided. When people pet, cuddle and use kind words softly spoken to pets, they learn to trust and look forward to human interaction. Also, how family members relate to each other and to pets have an impact on their personalities – in a positive or negative way. When introduced to other dogs or cats, slowly and patiently, your pet will likely look forward to future happy experiences.

Here’s Pooka welcoming Leah to the neighborhood. Leah, a 3 year old, 100 lb Saint Bernard was adopted from a rescue group. Pooka stood on his hind legs, struggling to see her, so Leah laid down to see Pooka eye to eye. Now they’re best friends. – Tom R.C., Palm Springs

Ok, Pooka get’s around. Is it wrong? Here, he’s playing with “Lotta”. Her owner says, “My little Lotta keeps me in good health. She makes me smile, laugh and gives me unconditional love, keeping my blood pressure low, my immune system up, and my mood positive through the release of beneficial hormones. So pets are not only good companions, they’re also good medicine.” – Dr. Thea J. Rabb, N.D., Palm Springs

“As a Jack Russell, I just want to say Organic Bones are the only way to go! My Mom and Dad make sure I’m healthy… teeth brushed, four miles of walking a day, brushings and lots of fun with my yellow ball. I’m nine, lookin’ very handsome and sleek. My name is Bodhi Good Boy Spirit Dog McBean, but my buddies call me “Bodhi.” – Dog of Dr. Audrey Reed and Stuart Green
