Wow! What a great story about the High Desert, especially especially the beautiful pictures! As I read it, I felt like I was reliving my own long-ago trips up to the Joshua Tree area. In fact, the writer made me feel like I was actually there again. I could feel the wind on my face and the sand on my feet, and I remembered all the quaint and friendly businesses that dot the highway and side-streets. I’m going up there again as soon as I can. Maybe I’ll run into Mr. Cole. We could share stories about motorcycle rides along those curves on highway 62!

Dear Going Organic,
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your article about Michele Mician. It is rewarding to discover how much work the city of Palm Springs has invested in using and encouraging the concept of “going green” in all of its various aspects. For the many people who are unfamiliar with the concept of sustainability, your story creatively and thoroughly describes it.
Your description of Michele as “young, green, hip and dynamic” certainly fits the story of her life and accomplishments. She is an impressive young woman who I hope to meet some day.
Unfortunately, I do not live close enough to visit the Community Garden on a regular basis, but after reading about it, it is definitely on my “to do” list.
Congratulations to your magazine, Michele, and Palm Springs for supporting locally grown products, ecologically sound vehicles, fitness, and recycling efforts. I found your magazine to be well presented, including the informative ads about local organic products and businesses.

Dear Like-Minded People:
I enjoyed reading about the Birthday Party for Patricia Bragg. For years I have used Bragg products, but I didn’t know about the extensive work her family has done in the health field. I am even more thankful to her now that I learned about the hard work her family put into the industry and our health.
Patricia is so right when she says “Health is our birthright.” I agree that she certainly has done a lot to help us all work towards being healthy, naturally. Happy Late Birthday Patricia-somehow my invitation got lost in the mail.

Thanks for the story on Michele Mician and sustainability. To be honest, I had no idea there was so much involved in the concept. I was in Palm Springs visiting a friend when I grabbed a copy of your magazine at the Farmer’s Market. I was not expecting such a great and educational piece in a local magazine. After reading the article, I felt guilty that I don’t do more myself to help the planet. I thought I was doing well just by recycling and low-water landscaping.
Now I know there is so much more to the problems we and the planet face. So I decided it’s time to dump my SUV for something at least half electric. I’m not quite ready for a scooter like Ms. Mician’s, but I decided to go electric car shopping. Then I think I’ll drive my new car up to the 29 Palms Inn to check out the food and music your magazine discussed before I head home.

Dear Going Organic Guide:
About four months ago, my daughter gave me a copy of your magazine along with an “Earthing Pad.” I read your article and found it very interesting, but at first I was reluctant to try an unfamiliar product. Since I work from sun up until sun down outside with my horses or in the yard, I used the excuse that I didn’t have time to sit around with my feet on a pad.
My daughter explained that I could use the pad to sleep on all night and, of course, she nagged me endlessly. As a woman who has had two recent knee replacements with regular, very painful joint inflammation and swelling in both legs, I decided it was worth a try. I was absolutely shocked by the results.
Within two days of using the pad, my leg swelling decreased and I noticed a clear decline in my knee pain. After one week of nightly sleeping on the pad, I noticed a remarkable difference. My joints, especially my knees, now have very little, if any, pain. Both my legs have reduced swelling. I can now work outside all day without constant pain.
Today, I am the one nagging other people to use Earthing products. I now use my pad when I watch TV, eat meals, and when I sleep. I hear there are Earthing sheets, so that is my next step. I am very grateful to your magazine and my daughter for introducing me to such a wonderful product and for my improved fitness.
